SCP-2176 is an SCP Item that can be used counter SCP-079's control over doors for a short amount of time.

In Game

SCP-2176 can be found in Bulletproof Locker №7s located around the map, which require a Keycard with both

to open.
Up to three instances of SCP-2176s can naturally spawn in a match.

When SCP-2176 is equipped, it can be thrown a long distance by pressing Left Click, and will shatter on impact, affecting the room it shattered in for 10 seconds based on the table below.
SCP-2176 can also be dropped, and will shatter automatically within 10 seconds. It cannot be picked up during this time period.


SCP-2176 will have different effects depending on the type of room it shatters in.

Room Effects
Normal Room
  • Effects last for 15 seconds after shattering.
  • All lights turn off and doors lock, similar to SCP-079 blackout.
  • SCP-079 cannot interact with doors in the room.
Tesla Gate Hallway
  • The Tesla Gate discharges for a short time then is disabled for 15 seconds, allowing safe passage.
  • SCP-079 cannot trigger the disabled Tesla Gate.
SCP-079 blackout rooms
  • Effects last for 15 seconds after shattering.
  • Blackout immediately ends. All lights turn back on, and the doors are forced open.
    • If SCP-2176 is thrown adjacent to a blackout room, it still forces the door open.
  • SCP-079 cannot interact with forced doors, nor blackout any room connected to said doors.

Uses

  • SCP-2176 can be used to escape hostile players by trapping them in a locked room for a short amount time.
  • SCP-2176 can be used to trap players in the same room with you.
    • This is mostly done to prevent SCPs (notably SCP-096) from fleeing when attempting to use the Micro H.I.D. against them

  • SCP-2176 was temporary added during the Halloween 2021 Event, and was later permanently added to the game in 11.1.0.
  • Putting SCP-2176 in SCP-914 on 1:1 will grant the player 12 Coins, which equals to $3.00, the same price SCP-2176 was listed as in its trailer.
  • SCP-2176 was an idea suggested by a patreon in the official SCP SL Discord that was forwarded to the Game Design team after the Art Manager took a liking to the suggestion.
  • SCP-2176 can be used to force open Keycard doors. This is done by using one instance to lock down a room, and then using a second instance to end the blackout effect, opening closed doors.
    • Prior to the 11.1.3 update, players could open the doors to SCP-106's CC with this trick.
