Site-02 uses the MM/DD/YY date format for any document they print for local use, while any international printed documents use the DD/MM/YY date format. While Site-02 uses the MM/DD/YY date format that is common in the Americas, it is unknown if that means Site-02 is located in the Americas as its location is redacted, unlike Site-11 and Site-88 which have their locations shown as being in the Americas. The outlets found around Site-02 are Type E, which is not commonly used in the Americas. | Site-02 uses the MM/DD/YY date format for any document they print for local use, while any international printed documents use the DD/MM/YY date format. The outlets found around Site-02 are Type E, which is not commonly used in the Americas. Several American quarters are also found throughout the facility. The site uses American English, instead of British English spellings. The metric system is mainly used, but some personnel might use the imperial system, according to the Operational Guide for the [[COM-18]]. | ||

Top-secret R&D and Emergency Containment Site-02, also known simply as Site-02, or as the "Master Site", is where SCP: Secret Laboratory takes place. Located somewhere in the boreal forests of [REDACTED], Site-02 is a Foundation site that specializes in, emergency containment, the study of altered anomalies, and anomalies that have gained new effects that previously had not existed. At an unknown date, Site-02 was deactivated, before eventually being reactivated on 29/12/2017.
Security Protocol, Site-02-A991, requires all Foundation and civilian satellites to have a blind spot in a 10 km radius around Site-02. Any unauthorized personnel approaching Site-02 are to be administered amnestics by external security and transferred outside the 10 km radius.
Several American quarters are also found throughout the facility. The site uses American English, instead of British English spellings. The metric system is mainly used, but some personnel might use the imperial system, according to the Operational Guide for the COM-18.
Operational Guides
Site-02 is a hastily renovated and re-established Foundation site in the boreal forests of [REDACTED], known officially as ‘Top-secret R&D and Emergency Containment Site-02’. The site was reactivated on 12.29.2017. Aside from being used as emergency containment, Site-02 remains as the Foundation's principal research facility. Their research focuses on altered anomalies and anomalies that have gained new effects that previously had not existed. Underneath everything, Site-02 serves as the main site operating for the O5 council’s untold directive.
___
“I just found out about Site-45. I can’t believe how much worse it’s getting out there. At least they don’t know where we are… I hope. I hate this place. I hate this place so much, but I’ll be damned if I’ve ever felt more secure anywhere else. To imagine that this place could be compromised too… Would that mean the end of us all? If they can find this place, maybe they can find… Oh God.”
-Charles H. Goodwin, Analyst, Site-02
The Surface Zone of the facility is the receiving area of the site as well as its outermost security level. According to security protocol Site-02-A991, all foundation and civilian satellites are to have a “blind spot” of the surrounding 10 km of land to maintain locational secrecy. External site security is to administer amnestics to any human approaching the site, and to transfer them back outside this area.
___
“I finally got the opportunity to visit the Surface Zone for some air; too much heat during testing. That damn weapon gets very hot, very quickly. It occurs to me, the name “Surface Zone” is very much justified. I’m ‘zoned’ in here just like the rest of the staff. Even though it's eventually getting a renovation, its huge walls always feel like it is to keep us locked in, and not to keep something else out… Why else would you need sniper towers looking in?”
-Charles H. Goodwin, Analyst, Site-02
Subsection-01 of Site-02 is the primary civilian work area. It hosts a large variety of private (and open) office spaces, staff lockers, and large, open spaces for Site Staff to relax and recuperate in. The ‘entrance zone’, as it is known by staff, directly connects the facility’s transport elevators to the surface; with connection points to the Heavy Containment Zone, as well as [DATA EXPUNGED].
___
“Recording this for my personal log because I got literally nothing better to do. Another day in the office, another boring day in the office. It’s always the same old, same old. ‘Hey Chuck, finish those TPS reports. Hey Chuck, input some of this data to the main servers. Do some check-overs.’ I’d kill to do something different. Something impactful for once.”
-Charles H. Goodwin, Analyst, Site-02
The Light Containment and Testing Zone, colloquially known by Site Staff as the ‘Grayhall’, houses multiple testing facilities and containment cells for a number of Euclid and Safe-Anomalous objects. The Zone houses the majority of the D-Class stocks contained within numerous individual confinement cells and personnel offices. Medical testing, screening, and Site operations are also conducted here on both staff and D-Class Personnel.
___
“Fifteen, Twenty-two, Forty-five, Six-dash-three…hell, even Area Fourteen. More and more hits are happening and we sit here doing nothing. For what, exactly? So we know why 096 screams the way it does? So we understand why 173 shits? Shouldn't we be using what we know to fight back? To develop some kind of weapon that works? ... I wonder what the O5 think.”
-Charles H. Goodwin, Analyst, Site-02
The Heavy Containment Subsection, also known as Subsection-05, is one of Site-02’s most secure subsections. Dedicated to the secure containment of numerous dangerous Keter and Euclid class anomalies, such as instances of SCP-939 and SCP-106. The Heavy Containment Subsection contains many tools that security may utilize in the containment and security of anomalies. Subsection-05 is composed of P-S-3 electrostatic tesla gates and additional subsections. These include Subsection-05-1 and Subsection-05-2, both with various uses ranging from dedicated SCP-containment to the on-site nuclear warhead.
___
“Another log. May as well keep some of my thoughts collected at least. Termination tests for 096 are going nowhere. Nobody can figure out how to snap, chip, or otherwise break its bone structure. Project Segmentum isn't getting any better, it's still locked up in its service locker. Techies are still trying to figure out some new method of delivering its energy supply. The only thing that does happen on the regular is 106’s containment breaches. Either I'm missing out on the fun stuff or our work here is entirely pointless.”
-Charles H. Goodwin, Analyst, Site-02
Site-02 Lockdown Procedures
Security Directives
In the event of a Code: White/Gray breach.
On-site security teams are to make immediate attempts to re-secure the compromised zones so QRF, or tactical response teams, may approach the crisis unhindered. All members of site security are to prioritize the safety and security of site personnel — Class-C and/or Level-1 and above. Principal priority personnel remain to be research staff. If evacuation shelters have been rendered ineffective, due to the nature of the threat, security staff are to escort any surviving personnel to the surface for extraction. The entrance gates are to always be kept sealed to prevent the escape of SCP objects. In the case of assault of a highly-organized major force, security personnel are not to engage directly unless deemed absolutely necessary. For more information, and the expanded version, refer to “Executive Prevention Code".
Expert from Facility Guard Operational Guide.
Rapid Response
In the event of a Code: White/Gray breach.
Immediately mobilize facility-recovery squads. Squads to be sent by helicopters towards the compromised sector. In the case of an assault by a highly-organized major force; a major containment breach; the deaths and/or disappearances of site security; and a high possibility for certain destruction of all site assets, MTF operators are to use all means necessary to secure the Facility and extract any surviving staff. If an SCP-object is deemed inherently inimical to Foundation interest, MTF operators are permitted to terminate and/or destroy the object under executive prevention code SC-4¹. If termination is not possible, attempt recontainment, or temporary neutralization, of the object and wait for further action. For more information, and the expanded version, refer to “Executive Prevention Code".
Expert from MTF Operational Guide.
Footnotes
Excerpt from the Executive Prevention Code:
SC-4 — in the event of a major crisis, with a definite risk of a major compromise, protocol SC-4 may be utilized and grants authorization for the immediate termination of an SCP object by dedicated personnel.
Class-D Personnel
In the event of a catastrophic site event, Class-D personnel are to be terminated immediately; unless deem_d necessary by on-site security personnel. Termination of Class-D personnel is to b________________ revent unwanted intervention that would demand further a________________oing event. Evacuation
In the event of a Code: White/Gray breach.
Principal MTF deployed to neutralise the threat remains MTF-Iota-4. In the case of assault of a highly-organized major force; a major containment breach; the deaths and/or disappearances of zone security; and a high possibility for certain destruction of all site assets, all site personnel are advised to utilize on-site resources to proceed with the default evacuation plan. If evacuation shelters are rendered unsafe due to the nature of the threat, site-security will direct personnel accordingly. Surviving personnel are advised to avoid all escaped anomalies. All personnel are authorized to utilize certain Safe-class SCPs (e.g SCP-914) if they believe that it will increase their chances of survival. If personnel survive, use of any SCP objects during the event will be evaluated by the Ethics Committee. MTF teams may require extensive planning before entering the site. Personnel are advised to prepare for a long wait. Involved personnel are to expect the eventual liquidation of their department — timescale unpredictable.

Your mind is filled with the effigies of those long since passed. Your nose begins to run, leaking bloody gray drippings. As your mind leaves your body, you forget who you are. Lost memories are replaced with asking yourself and those you love the same questions: ‘Where are you?’, ‘What were you doing?’, ‘Who’s that behind you? In the end, all you could accomplish was collecting several glasses of water you could not remember. Once again, you ask the spirits if they ever loved you at all. |

But mankind has been known for their limitless curiosity... and the consequences that follow. |
When standard protocol fails and multiple breaches are imminent, Foundation facilities call for the deployment of the Nine-Tailed Fox. The whirring of helicopter blades heralds their arrival. |

Experimental Technology
- 3-X Particle Disruptor
- An energy weapon found inside a present from SCP-2536. The weapon's properties cause targets to disintegrate instantly upon being hit. SCPs are capable of taking multiple hits from the weapon but studies have shown the weapon bypasses their Hume Shield. The weapon is highly unstable and will malfunction after repeated use. Attempts to reverse engineer the firearm is on its way.
- Micro High-Intensity Electrical Discharge Thrower (Micro H.I.D.) Code Name: Project: Segmentum
- A powerful experimental energy weapon meant to quickly terminate SCP subjects. The weapon's tesla coils will store up energy for a short time before firing a high-intensity discharge that is extremely powerful. The weapon can only discharge for a short time before the rechargeable battery is fully drained.
Security Systems
- Central Autonomic Service System for Internal Emergencies (C.A.S.S.I.E.)
- Experimental on site automatic security system that controls many systems throughout Site-02 to to help combat any emergencies that take place. For added security, C.A.S.S.I.E. can only be overridden via physically accessing its master control terminal. This extra layer of security only applies to C.A.S.S.I.E. itself and not any external systems they control. Theoretically, an external program inside Site-02 systems could block C.A.S.S.I.E.'s access to the other security systems of Site-02.
- CCTV Surveillance Cameras
- Previously used for decommissioned security room located on Surface Zone, these cameras are now used by C.A.S.S.I.E. to monitor the status of Site-02. The cameras will display a box around the head of any visible human during playback, though the cameras may struggle with targets from afar. They have a built in Breach Scanner that allows them to detect anomalous presence in a given room. Hypothetically, an external program that managed to gain access to the cameras could reprogram the Breach Scanner to scan for a different target.
- Emergency Power Stations (Generators)
- These power stations can be used in an event of a power failure in Heavy Containment Zone, allowing systems to work incase of an emergency. In the event SCP-079 gains access to Site-02 systems, an overcharge process could be used to cause a hard-reset of the zone. This reset would then force SCP-079 out of the systems, successfully recontaining them back in their original hardware. This can be performed by activating all the power stations in the zone and pressing the button in SCP-079's chamber.
- Fire Suppression System
- In the event of a fire, C.A.S.S.I.E. will automatically activate the suppression system to extinguish it. C.A.S.S.I.E. has multiple different anti-fire procedures codes to help differentiate the risk of the fire. Such as if human life is in danger, if multiple rooms are on fire, or if an SCP Chamber is on fire. This system is not represented ingame, and simply exist for world building.
- NFC Keycard Readers
- Found across Site-02, these NFC Keycard Readers are used as the main method of security clearance around the facility. Many doors and structures around the facility are locked behind some sort of clearance level, preventing unauthorized personnel from entering restricted areas.
- Tesla Gates
- Exclusive to Heavy Containment Zone. These gates generate a powerful zap to deter any passersby. These systems are offline most of the time and are only enabled by C.A.S.S.I.E. during an emergency if needed.

Site-19
Site-19 was the largest Foundation Site, housing a hundreds of various SCPs, most of which were Safe or Euclid. The massive size of the site leads it to be broken up into many different sectors, much more so than Site-02. These sectors are also primarily located above ground. One of these sectors, known as Facility 23, was dedicated to SCP-914 alone. Site-19 also holds dedicated laboratories for the storage of anomalous items that do not need Special Containment Procedures.
The outside perimeter of Site-19 was seen in the SCP-939 Rework Teaser, composing of a mountain range and a forest. Though, due to Site-19's size, this was most likely just one of its sectors.

The Silent Night of Site-19
On ███████ all communication with Site-19 was lost, a site wide containment breach was suspected and an excavation was planned. The excavation took place two days after all communication was lost. During the evacuation, no man made structures were discovered at Site-19's location. An unknown substance was discovered by the excavation team after taking a soil sample. Further laboratory investigation is pending at an unnamed forward operating base.
An instance of SCP-939 was discovered in the nearby forest during the excavation. It is currently unknown where the instance came from.

Area-14
Area-14 is a Foundation owned location located in the Americas. Little is known about Area-14 as it has only been brought up a few times in Operational Guides. The current guides suggest it has some focus on creating small firearms and studying Chaos Insurgency tactics. The guide for Light Containment Zone implies Area-14 was recently hit by a raid. Though the fact the Foundation still has a readily supply of equipment from the nearby headquarters of Foundation Gunworks, implies the Foundation was successful in defending off the raid or the raiders were unable to find the headquarters.
Known Area-14 Staff
- Dr. Hugo York (Active)
- Small Arms Researcher & Insurgency Tactics Analyst
- Recorded the logs for Chaos Insurgency Weapons' Operational Guides
A specialist Insurgency sidearm, reserved only for their most accurate sharpshooters. A single, well-aimed shot of its .44 magnum cartridge will kill instantly. Its users are well aware of this fact. |
The Chaos Insurgency’s standard-issue rifle. An automatic weapon chambered in 7.62 x 39. It comes from a long lineage of Russian rifles. The AK has served worldwide for decades. For the Insurgency, the rifle is only seen in the hands of the Chaos Insurgency’s most elite forces. It seems that the AK’s stellar reputation precedes itself. The Insurgency seems to have taken their own liberties with the design, but these accessories are just decorations atop the rifle’s rugged Russian core. |
A powerful light machine gun (LMG), issued in small numbers by the Insurgency. With the remarkable ability to lay down suppressive fire, this 7.62 x 39 LMG can prove a valuable asset to an Insurgency squad. Evident by how infrequently it’s used, the Insurgency only has a small number of them in their possession. This remains an assumption. |
A specialist Insurgency shotgun. The weapon is 12-gauge, double-barrelled, and high-capacity. Its users work in a quick, calculated, and efficient manner — they incapacitate, execute, and move on to the next target. It is often found that Foundation psychologists need to treat even the most experienced guards. It is claimed that sometimes, in some distant hallway, they still hear the weapon being cycled. |

- Recorded the log for SCP-268's Operational Guide
The fate of an inanimate object is not one any individual is likely to consider but one could feel just a twinge of sympathy for this hat. You see, as far as this hat’s fate goes, it is rather unfortunate. No one will ever see it adorning someone’s head and the wearer will be ignored by those around them. In every regard, if this hat held any sentience, its fate would be tragic. |
- Dr. J. D. Lord (Active)
- Only mentioned on label for SCP-500
- Chief █████ ██████ (Active)
- Foundation Armament Overseer, Head of the Compact Response Operative Submachine gun Selection program, or C.R.O.S.S.
- Recorded the log for Crossvec's Operational Guide
A 9mm, submachine gun, popular with several Foundation task forces. It has an integral recoil-reduction system and high fire rate. Few firearms in Foundation possession boast such widespread adoption. A Mobile Task Force (MTF) operative will often not know the extent of a threat once they’re deployed. 40 rounds should be more than enough for any number of combat scenarios an MTF might enter. At least, that's what they are told. |
- Agent █████ ████████ (Active)
- Site-██ Security
- Blames themself for unnamed personnel being taken by SCP-106, and subsequently requests for amnestics.
- Recorded the log for SCP-106's Operational Guide
Out of the darkness came a man, covered in death and rotting. Pain and terror were known to its victims, for the strongest walls held no solace. No fortress known to man could impede this creature from dragging its prey into Hell; where hope holds no meaning, and where screaming simply makes the torment worse. |
- D-02295 (Unknown)
- During testing of SCP-1576, kept asking over and over again for a sandwich before fainting.
- Unnamed personnel with unknown position (Deceased)

Trivia
- The day Site-02 was reactivated, "12.29.2017", is the same date when SCP: Secret Laboratory was released on Steam.
- The logo for Site-02 was originally created by a patron member named Simplewolf. The logo would later become official after they joined the studio as a Game Designer.
- There was some occasionally mentioned lore before the game's lore was taken more seriously, but most of it is no longer canon.
- Proper names for the playable Class-D and Scientist.
- Site-02 using Class-D in place of janitors.
- SCP-682 contained at a different site, as a reason to not be added.
- SCP-999 died, also as an excuse to not implement into the game.
- Dr. Daniels is in reference to Dr. Daniel "Dan" ███████ from the original Foundation wiki article for SCP-096, who was commonly attributed the last name Daniels by other wiki authors. Dr. Daniels is the first direct reference in the game to a character originating from the Foundation wiki.
- The names of Chief Engineer Mikel Kimber and mayor of New York Stephen Galeoto are likely a reference to team member Michael "Mikel" Galeoto.
- Agent Jeremy Fritz is likely a reference to the Five Nights at Freddy's 2 security guard protagonist characters Jeremy Fritzgerald and Fritz Smith.
