Editing Guidelines

• When it comes to features that can be changed with configs, the default option should always be talked about first..
• When transcribing something from in game, such as a document or The Operational Guide, write it exactly how it appears in game, do NOT fix any grammar/spelling mistakes or incorrect information.
• Avoid linking to the same page multiple times on an article. Generally, only the first time a thing appears on a page is when it should be linked.
  • An exception to this rules are bulleted list or loot tables. They should always be linked no matter what
• This wiki is for vanilla features only, any feature added from plugins should not be listed on the wiki.
  • The Coin page is the one exception to this rule, as the item mostly exist for plugin purposes. Despite this, do not add every Coin related plugin to its page or modded 914 recipes.
• All measurements on the wiki must be measured in the Metric System.
  • Large numbers of meters are to be set up so that hovering over them, will display a tooltip that shows the number of hallways they are equal to.
  • Any form of measurement before the Mimicry Update (12.0) must be measured in the Hube System. There will be no conversion to metric in this case.
• Community created nicknames such as "Wallnut, Tumornut, Weed Room, etc." are not to be added to the wiki. Official nicknames, such as "Matthew or Mango" are allowed.
• Do not vandalize, insert gibberish or false information on the wiki.
• Always use official names when ever possible. The following steps are to be used for "Official Names"
  • If the thing is an item, the name in the inventory is considered the Official Name.
  • If the thing is NOT an item (or in the case of the Lantern, unable to have two pages named "Flashlight") then the official name will be transcribed from text on the model. For example, "Emergency Power Station" comes from the model. (In 11.0 the Weapon Manager Tablets were removed, which originally displayed the true name of gens, despite this, the abbreviation "EPS" remained on the generator model)
  • If the above two are not possible, the official name will be taken from somewhere else ingame, such as CASSIE announcements, Operational Guides or documents.
  • If all three are not possible, the official name will come from changelogs.
• Names of items, objects, mechanics etc. should always be capitalized. For example: Emergency Power Station, Coin, Flashlight, Facility Guard.
• List should always be in alphabetical order. So Flashbang Grenade should appear above items like Painkillers but below items like Coins. Items that start with a number, like the 3-X Molecular Disruptor, should appear at the top of the list and follow a numerical order. Making list follow a 123ABC Format. SCPs are always listed in numerical order.
  • When it comes to 914, the "remainder" ammo is ALWAYS below the main amount.
  • Loot Tables will always list items in the order of spawn chance from highest to lowest.
  • When listing item/spawn IDs, always go from lowest to highest.
