The '''Jailbird''' is a [[Weapons|melee weapon]] found in ''SCP: Secret Laboratory''. It is a shock baton that can be charged up to smack other players.

==In Game==
The Jailbird is a unique weapon that can only be found in SCP-2536. The weapon is a powerful shock baton that can be used three times before breaking. The weapon can be swung with {{Key Press|Leftclick}},
dealing twenty(20) damage to anyone it hits. This will bypass both [[Armor (Disambiguation)|Armor]] and [[Hume Shield]].

The Jailbird can be charged by holding {{Key Press|Rightclick}}, causing movement speed to be cut and half. The player is also unable to jump and turning the camera becomes extremely hard. After a few seconds, the weapon is fully charged and ready to be used. Upon releasing {{Key Press|Rightclick}} the player will charge forward for a brief period of time, and is cancelled upon attacking. A blue streamer trail effect follows the player while they are charging forward.

A charge attack will deal eighty(80) damage upon hit, and like before, this bypasses Armor and Hume Shield. Targets who survive this attack will be given the Flashbang [[Status Effects|Status Effect]] for four(4) seconds.

The Jailbird's blue complexion will transform to a shade of red upon dealing a total of [DATA EXPUNGED] attacks, or upon charging the weapon three times.

The Jailbird will violently explode if the object is swung at an enemy while the Jailbird is in its "red state". The resulting explosion will terminate the user, and deal a considerable (if not life-threatening) amount of damage to any other players caught in its blast.

==Trivia==
*The Jailbird was originally planned to be added in the Xmas 2021 Event, but was added in early January of 2023.
*It was noted in the early days of SCP:SL that the developers refused to add any melee weapons for human classes. However, this attitude seems to have changed over the years.
*The Jailbird has several robotic voices emanating from it through usage.
*It is assumed that the Jailbird is one of several unique anomalous items produced by SCP-2536.
